    agreed on most points (but let's also say that loan officers doesn't need an apostrophe). What LOs should also consider is quitting.

    Chad thanks for the reality check. you are correct about marketing. you can the best loan officer in the city, but if you are not doing anything to get the business the people with in the City are alwasy going to go to the one the is at there door asking for the business. its not like it was a few years back people are not just getting in line to refinance. we need to do our part and dig deep. great post.

    I totally agree with the above. LOs need to be more innovative, or move to a shop that is. They need to stop saying "I tried that two years ago and it didn't work."

    There are some really innovative and forward thinking Mortgage Banks out there doing all of the above you mentioned.

    Super jumbos and high-dollar construction loans are not what they used to be. Make sure that if you are going for higher dollar deals that your company is willing to approve them. Otherwise you might have to suck it up and get in touch with your FHA side :)

    Thanks for the refresher. I can't tell you how many times I have lost leads because I have not followed up. Its very important to stay on top of your leads.
